The True Christ

PROPHECIES OF REVELATION 4

     "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. And he exercised all the authority of the first beast before him and causes the earth and them who dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceives them that dwell on the earth by means of these miracles which he had the power to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image of the beast which has the wound by a sword and did live. And he had authority to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not adore the image of the beast to be killed. And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads; and that no one might buy or sell, except he that had the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man; and his number is six-hundred threescore and six (666)" (Rev. 13:11-18).

      The woman clothed with the sun typifies the Holy Orthodox Church; the beast rising from the sea typifies Islam, but the second beast that we see rising from the earth typifies the papacy headed by the infallible Pope of Rome. The differences are that the beast of the sea contains many barbaric-like people, while the beast of the earth represents apparently civilized men. The authority of both these beasts is first religious and second political and warlike. In the same way that Mohammed appeared in the world as the one and only apostle if God, so the Pope appeared as the one and only apostle of God, enforcing his acceptance as a religious and political leader, for he claims to be both arch-priest and king! The objective of both of these beasts is the same, the eradication of holy Orthodoxy.

     The differences is that Islam directly denies and blasphemes Jesus Christ, denying that He is the eternal Son of the Father and is just another prophet; so they deny God as being the eternal Father of Jesus Christ and of all Christians. The Pope comes in the name of Christ as the only custodian of Christianity, and assumes to be the one and only religious and political leader of the entire Christian world.

     The second or papal beast poses as being Christian and so has "two horns like a lamb, but he spoke as a dragon who energizes him." He brings down fire from heaven, which is the power of excommunication of rulers and emperors, who submitted to his authority to avoid excommunication, which increased the Pope’s power.

     The "mark in their right hand" derives from the manner that they make their cross. They do not unite the three fingers in witness to the Trinity as we Orthodox do, but with all five fingers dipped in holy water, they enter their churches. Making their cross with their whole hand proclaims to all thwt thwy are Papist, Latin or Catholic. Revelation identifies the number 666 as the name of a man or group of men. The Catholics for centuries were always known as the Latins or Lateino. The word in Greek was then spelled Lateino (not Latino as in today’s spelling) (lambtha, alpha, taf, epsilon, iota, nee, omikron, sigma). The Greek letters of Scripture are also have numerical values. Lambtha or L = 30, alpha or a =1, tee or t = 300, epsilon or e = 5, iota or I =10, nee or n = 50, omikron or o = 70, sigma or s = 200. Total = 666, the number of a man, that is a Latin. Incidentally the Lord uses numbers in many other cases. Also, the name Jesus (ie-sous) is spelled with the letters iota (10), eta (8), sigma (200), omikron (70), eepsilon (400) and sigma (200). This adds up to 888 which is the number of the Resurrection, of Sunday the first and eighth day, smd it is Jesus’ number.

     Many writers have called 666 a number of the Devil, but this conflicts with Revelation which names it as the number of a man or group of men. Thus the Latins or Latino is more properly identified with the number of 666, which is the number of a man or group of men.

     History clearly records 1. the woman clothed with the sun, 2. the Moslems, and 3. the Papacy. Both of the latter are inimical and war against the woman clothed with the sun, Holy Orthodoxy. Both these beasts are inspired by the evil one. Mohammed the antichrist from the sea, and the pseudo-Christ Pope from the land of the Latins. The from the sea indicates barbaric-like, from the earth indicates more civil. Although they appear to be inimical toward each other they have a common objective frequent cooperation, for they both seek the destruction of the genuine and the true Christianity preserved in holy Orthodoxy.

     "Life was given to the image of the beast" through the spurious synod of Florence, Italy in 1438, during the reign of Pope Eugene IV and John Paleologos, Emperor of Constantinople. The emperor was seeking papal assistance hoping to save the falling empire at any cost. Betraying Orthodoxy to save the empire was acceptable and the Orthodox betrayers ended the synods by accepting and signing a contractof union under the authority of the Pope. Nothing came of this union nor would the faithful accept it, still the betrayal did take place and is recorded in history. St. Mark of Ephesus was the chief defender of Holy Orthodoxy at this synod, for he stood strong against the Pope, the papacy, and the Orthodox betrayers and he has been greatly glorified due to his faithfulness to the truth and the Church. Persecution was frequently used by the Latins for they dream of their Popes dominating the entire world.

     A most faithful Orthodox zealot named John Oussios was brought to trial and condemned only a few years before the synod of Florence. This was accomplished by a Latin-minded synod who sentenced him to be burned to death for teaching that the popes by their deeds, had proved themselves to be antichrists rather than Christ’s representatives. This shows the power of the papacy and its wickedness though they are called Christians. John Oussios spoke the truth and willingly suffered martyrdom but he is for ever glorified by the Lord Jesus Christ and His Body, the Church.

     Any Orthodox Christian that fails to read of the papal crusades against the Orthodox of Constantinople is missing a giant part of history, for they showed their true colors in the attack on the city. The weapons of the crusaders were given to men to fight the infidel, that is the Moslems. But although they entered Constantinople as brother Christians, they turne against the people like mad dogs. "They steeped their swords in Christian blood, sparing neither religion, nor age, nor sex. They stripped the altars of silver, violated the sanctuaries, robbed icons, crosses and relics." This is one sentence from an historical account!
